Flare RC gets new features that open even more possibilities for your scale builds. Here's a complete tour of what's new.
🚨 Light bar / Roof bar
The most requested feature is finally here. Two LEDs — one red on G21, one blue on G22 — simulate a realistic light bar. Four sequences are available:
- Alterné — rouge et bleu alternent, le classique des voitures de police
- Double flash — deux flashs rapides de chaque couleur avant de basculer
- Rotation — simulation d'un gyrophare qui tourne
- Balayage — fondu croisé progressif entre les deux couleurs
Speed (50 to 500ms) and intensity are adjustable from the app. For maximum effect, use 10000mcd+ high-brightness LEDs and place them in a red/blue translucent diffuser.
🌫️ Fog lights
Four LEDs spread over pins G17, G18 (front) and G19, G20 (rear). For front lights, choose the color to match your style: pure white for a modern look, icy blue for a xenon effect, or yellow for vintage halogen. Rear lights must be red, just like real cars.
📻 Multi-function CH3 channel (suspended for now)
⚠️ Feature suspended for now. A single radio CH3 channel — connected to G36 — can independently control fog lights and the light bar based on click count. You configure it freely: 1 click for fog, 2 clicks for light bar, or vice versa, or any other combination from 1 to 9 clicks. Click delay is adjustable from 200 to 800ms to avoid accidental triggers.
🌙 Night mode with LDR sensor
Night mode reduces the global intensity of all LEDs by a configurable percentage. It can be activated manually from the app, or automatically with an LDR sensor (photoresistor, less than €1) connected to G35.
The setup is simple: a voltage divider with the LDR and a 10kΩ resistor between 3.3V and GND, midpoint on G35. When ambient brightness drops below the configured threshold, LEDs automatically switch to reduced intensity. Sensitivity is adjustable from the app.
💨 Breathing effect and crash detection
At rest, you now choose between two behaviors: classic automatic hazards, or a LED breathing effect — a slow soft pulsation very popular on custom night builds. And if your car flips over or loses the radio signal, hazards activate automatically after 2 seconds to help you find it.
